GripStrength is an iPad app that connects to a Jamar Smart Hand Dynamometer over Bluetooth
and displays live grip-strength readings, a live graph, and recorded trials.
If you’re having trouble connecting, start with the “Troubleshooting” section below.
Getting started
Turn on your Jamar Smart dynamometer.
Open GripStrength on your iPad and go to the Devices tab.
Tap Scan and select your device to connect.
Return to the dashboard to view live readings and record trials.
Troubleshooting Bluetooth
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the iPad (Settings → Bluetooth).
Keep the dynamometer close to the iPad (within a few feet during pairing).
Turn the dynamometer off and back on, then scan again.
If the device appears but won’t connect, try “Forget This Device” in iPad Bluetooth settings, then re-pair.
Restart the iPad if the device still won’t connect.
Note: iPadOS may ask for Bluetooth permission the first time the app scans. Choose Allow.
